The Salvatore Pizza Family donates Historic Building to the Town of Irondequoit, NY.

Ray Lo Re, partner in the Salvatore Pizza Family recently came to terms with the town of Irondequoit to donate the historic Cobblestone House known as the Blacksmith Shop at 2025 & 2055 East Ridge Road.

Ray recently purchased the property from Mike and Carl Spinelli.  The Spinelli brothers for years operated a propeller repair business and donut shop at the property.  During the negotiations with the Spinelli's, Ray Lo Re met with town official Mitch Rowe.

Mitch Rowe with other town officials accepted Ray Lo Re's proposal to convert the former donut shop/pizzeria into a Salvatore's pizza location and the former propeller repair garage into retail space.  Mr. Lo Re agreed to donate the famous Blacksmith shop to the Town of Irondequoit.  The town hopes to move this building on town property at Titus Avenue sometime in the spring of 2008.

"The town has been great," says Ray Lo Re property owner.    This is the 15^th location for the Salvatore pizza family and the 2^nd for Mr. Lo Re.  Ray also owns the Ridge/Clinton Salvatore's at 1747 N. Clinton in the Ridge-Culver Plaza.

Ray is a 1992 graduate of Eastridge H.S. and lived in the town for most of his life.  Ray says the new Salvatore's at 2055 East Ridge Road will be called the Eastridge location.  A lot of our company's history is with Eastridge H.S. at 2350 East Ridge Road.  Eastridge H.S. is where the whole Salvatore pizza idea came from. Founder and CEO, Salvatore "Soccer Sam" Fantauzzo was a senior at Eastridge in 1978.  He and some friends took a home economics class for some extra credit and a project on pizza in Rochester gave him the direction into the pizza business.  The first Salvatore's location was opened on July 5, 1978 at 1985 East Main Street.

John Coraggioso, Salvatore's President & CFO is a 1984 graduate of Eastridge H.S.  John oversees the day-to-day operations of the company and operates 6 locations.

Lisa Arbore-DelGaizo a 1985 graduate of Eastridge H.S. operates 3 Salvatore's locations with her husband Michael DelGaizo, company's Vice President.

Ray says, "There's so much history with our company and the town of Irondequoit.  11 out of our 15 locations are operated by Eastridge H.S. graduates.  We're opening 4 new locations in North Carolina and a 1977 Eastridge H.S. graduate Chris Economides will be part of that new venture outside of Rochester."

"Our Eastridge location at 2055 East Ridge Road will be our flagship location," Lo Re says.  Ray with his wife Maria and their 4 children plan to be at the historic ceremony this spring at the town hall property.

"The Blacksmith Shop finally gets a proper home so that generations of families can enjoy our town's great history," says Lo Re.
