TWO DOZEN LOCALS CLIMBING MOUNTAIN FOR A GOOD CAUSE
On Valentine's Day 23 people from Rochester will fly to Africa. They're going on a journey to help those struggling with cancer. "Having cancer's like climbing a mountain so what we're doing kind of represents the struggle of cancer," said Salvatore Fantauzzo. Salvatore Fantauzzo and Ryan Evangelist are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. "It just seemed like something I couldn't pass up. Like a once in a lifetime experience," said Salvatore. Salvatore and Ryan have been friends since they were teenagers. The two graduated from Webster Schroeder High School. Both lost a grandparent to cancer. "My dad's mother passed away and it was pretty ugly towards the end. So I figure something like this would be a great thing to do. And we can look back on it and help remember her life and everything we shared with her," said Ryan. See the video and read the full story at RochesterHomePage.net |
