National Donut Day is held annually on the first Friday of June. The Salvation Army started Donut Day back in 1938 during the Great Depression, to honor the "Donut Lassies" who served donuts to soldiers on the frontline of WWI. National Donut Day is celebrated yearly, to bring awareness to the millions of people that the Salvation Army services each year.

Donuts Delite will be donating a portion of proceeds on Friday, June 2nd directly to The Salvation Army of Rochester. The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester also partners with Donuts Delite yearly to deliver donuts to local fire departments, emergency care centers, and other community service locations.

"National Donut Day is one of our favorite days of the year.” said Major Doug Burr of The Salvation Army. "We’re continuing this act of thanks and encouragement that was started more than 100 years ago. On June 2nd we will deliver smiles by the dozen and with volunteers joining in to appreciate those who serve others."

"We are so excited to celebrate National Donut day at BOTH of our locations: the original Empire@Culver location and also our new 674 W Ridge Rd location," said Nick Semeraro, Owner/Operator of Donuts Delite, "The Apple Fritter is a fan-favorite donut, and we are excited to celebrate another Donut Day with Rochester."

Both Donuts Delite locations open at 6AM Friday, June 2nd and will have Mini Apple Fritters ready to go! They will be served all day for free, one per customer with any purchase, while supplies last.
